CLASS OF 2018
T
his year United Ag rolled out a revamped scholarship process. Scholarship
applications were sent to all high schools in our area for the counselors to
distribute. The requirements were to be a graduating high school senior,
a child or grandchild of a member or employee of United Agricultural
Cooperative, and to turn in the application by the deadline. We are excited
to be awarding eight $250 scholarships.
JAMES HUBENAK
James Hubenak, son of James, Jr. and Mollie Hubenak,
is from Louise and plans to attend the University of
Arkansas Fayetteville to major in Music. He has been
a part of the marching band, Fellowship of Christian
Athletes, and UIL Congress. Upon graduation, James
plans to pursue a career in music production.
BLAIR WATZ
Blair Watz, son of Michael and Jackie Watz, is a
graduate from El Campo and plans to attend Texas
A&M University to major in Agricultural Economics. Blair
has been involved in 4-H, FFA, Wharton County Youth
Fair, and the National Gert Association all his life and
has received numerous honors and distinctions. Upon
graduation, Blair plans to pursue a career in rural
entrepreneurship.
HALEY GAVRANOVIC
Haley Gavranovic, daughter of William Gavranovic
and Cheryl Tritschler, is from Wharton and plans to
attend Texas A&M University to major in Entomology.
Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a career
as an agricultural entomologist. Haley has been a
member of the Boiling FFA Chapter and was the
2017 CDE Entomology State Champion. She was
the president of the National Honor Society, Senior
Class President, and has received several honors and
awards throughout the years.
