verybody needs a break once
in a while, and the agronomy
department at United Ag provided
that opportunity at its third annual
Cotton Cup fishing tournament. The
tournament was May 23 at Turtle Bay.
Clint Kacal, organizer of the event, said this year saw a record
number of entries. There were 23 teams in the competition,
equating to around 90 participants. Each team consisted of four
people, and at least one member of each team had to be a member of United Ag.
The 2013 winning team, whose two redfish and three trout
stringer weighed in at 25.87 pounds, was led by Daniel Juranek. His
teammates were Shannon Ritz with Ritz Foodmarts, Keith Klatt
with Bluecreek Whitetails and Mark Collins with Collins Welding.
Kacal said all of the champion team’s members do business
with United Ag and its multiple divisions.
The fishing tournament is an opportunity for United Ag to
give back to its customers. Kacal said his inspiration for starting
the event was founded in his own fishing experience.
