an you believe harvest is just
around the corner? The grain
department is excited about
what looks to be a promising corn, milo
and soybean crop. We are busy in the
elevators, as well as in the office, getting
prepared to deliver as smooth of a harvest
season as possible.
After last year’s volume and changing customer dynamics, we decided it
was past time to find a software system
that would operate more efficiently and
provide better customer service. After
months of research, we believe we have
found a perfect fit for our unique organization. We recently sent out a request
for farm information to start setting
up delivery sheets. These sheets will be
where your loads are applied according
to farm number. Having this information
entered ahead of harvest will speed up
truck processing time at the elevator, as
well as settlement turnaround time. This

information also will be linked to
the agronomy sales to assist in landlord
splits, and also to better calculate the
margin on a per farm evaluation. If you
did not receive a request and anticipate
delivering grain to United Ag, please give
us a call. We appreciate your cooperation
in completing the request and are available to assist in filling it out.
Another BIG change in the works is
how our truck dispatch will operate. The
new software is being implemented there
as well, and will help in getting drivers to
the farms more efficiently as well as getting available information to the elevator
ahead of time. If possible, we would like
maps to each of your farm numbers to
scan into the software. This will provide
the drivers better directions.
We are excited about the transition, but
realize that we will be confronted with
some challenges along the way. We can assure you that we will work to get all issues
addressed in a timely manner.
If you are
interested in
receiving your scale
tickets, contracts, settlements sheets or
daily bid/commentary via e-mail, please
e-mail [email protected] with your
e-mail, account name and what information you’d like to receive.
The United Ag Grain Department has
a Facebook page! Please like United AgMarket Updates. As we have seen more
farmers become more active in social media, we thought it was time to see if this
form of communication would be successful to relay current market conditions,
reports and newsworthy information.
During harvest we also plan on using it to
post hours and any other information that
we feel will help our customers. Feedback
is welcome.
