EVENT WELCOMES MORE THAN 500 SHOPPERS
The weekend was filled with delicious treats , one of a kind merchandise and specialty food trucks — all with a local flair . Blue Creek Market ’ s grand opening was a three-day affair that featured event-only promotions , door prize giveaways , wine samples and an eclectic mix of vendors and merchandise . More than 500 shoppers came out to enjoy the festivities and see the transformation of the old United Ag store building into El Campo ’ s first antique mall .
The public reception of Blue Creek Market has been overwhelmingly positive . Michelle Frankum , who played a large part in the planning and establishment of the new venture , said , “ Everyone has said that El Campo needed a place like this . Many ladies are excited about returning to see what new items the vendors have and to get a lot of their Christmas shopping done . The wives have a place to shop while their husbands are next door at United Ag .”
The market features 33 vendor booths , each with distinctive merchandise . Shoppers can find everything from clothing and jewelry to home decor and antiques . Some booths specialize in handmade items , while others feature boutique items . And , of course , there is plenty of “ junk ” to go around .

Frankum said she hopes to organize similar events at least quarterly . Blue Creek Market will be participating in El Campo ’ s Holiday Shop Hop on Tuesday , December 6 . Shop Hop will feature sales , refreshments and the perfect chance to Christmas shop , complete with extended hours . It will also be open until 6:30 p . m . in conjunction with Christmas at United Ag on December 8 .
