he agronomy departments in El
Campo, Danevang and Edna are busy
wrapping up the 2013 crop season. It
has been one of ups and downs, but overall
the crop has been better than expected.
Temperature fluctuations and difficult
planting conditions proved a challenge in
the beginning, but the resiliency and vigor of
today’s varieties and hybrids have us amazed
at their stamina, especially cotton.
Field observations and test plot data will
again prove very effective as we begin to
ponder next year’s planting decisions. We
are already taking bookings for seed at all
