Message From the President: Lookback on 2014 Happy Holidays from University Credit Union! I want to first and foremost introduce you to this new format for our newsletter. We’ve learned that the majority of our members prefer a digital format, so we’ve shifted to a digital magazine! While the new magazine will be available to all members in the digital version, we are still more than happy to mail a paper version to the members who request it. We are pleased to be able to bring our members information in the format they prefer! With this change, we have the opportunity to include more information in an easy-to-read format that I hope you find useful. Looking back on 2014, I am extremely pleased with everything that we were able to accomplish as well as the new products and services that we were able to introduce to our members. Our largest project of 2014 was the opening of our new retail branch and headquarters at 15 Main Street in Orono. The project, which started over four years ago as a concept, was made possible by our partnerships with the Town of Orono, WBRC Architects | Engineers and the Sheridan Corporation as well as by the hard work of our employees, our partners, and the contractors. By moving into this building, we have consolidated operations to help us run more efficiently as an organization while continuing to bring our members the highest level of member service and the best products and services available. In December, we launched Kasasa! Kasasa Cash and Kasasa Saver are the new names for rewardU checking and rewardU saver, and Kasasa Tunes is the new name for Tunes+ Checking. This new brand not only gives us a fresh look, but we also increased the rates on our Kasasa Cash and Kasasa Saver accounts! I would also like to take a moment to talk about our newest endeavor which is the opening of a campus branch at the University of Southern Maine (USM) in Gorham. This branch will be located in the Brooks Student Center, and it will be similar to our branches at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and in the Memorial Union at UMaine. By adding to our Shared Branching Kiosk that is currently at USM in Gorham, we will be able to enhance our current footprint with an employee who will be able to provide financial information, open accounts and take loan applications. We are extremely excited about this opportunity and the chance to offer the USM community better access to financial services. As always, thank you for your continued membership with University Credit Union. We wish you and your families happy and healthy holidays and a prosperous new year! Regards, Matt
