Fire involving a large complex of newly
constructed building

07/23/17 San Antonio, TX 8500SB I-85So.—0036hrs on July 23
2017, SAPD and SAFD units were dispatched to a reported
suspicious vehicle in the 8500blk of IH-35 South. Engine 25 and
Medic 25 arrived with SAPD units and found 30+ people in the back
of a Semi trailer, with multiple DOA’s. A Mass Casualty Incident
was quickly declared and a Medical Taskforce was dispatched. EN25
had initial IC and quickly started triaging the injured while SAFD
Central Alarm was directing medical units, the STRAC TXEMS-TF7
Bus, Airlife and coordinating with area hospitals to take the injured.
In total, there were approximately 38 patients, with 8 being triage
level black, 20 red’s and yellow’s and 10 green. 1 Pt. was flown by
Airlife, and the 10 green were taken by the Ambus; the 20 others
were transported by ground units to SAMMC, University Hospital,
South West General, Mission Trails, Metropolitan Methodist, Nix
and North Central Baptist. The incident is believed to center around
human trafficking, with the youngest two victims being school aged
and the others in the 20’s and 30’s. Homeland Security, ICE and
local agencies are investigating. SAPD did have one person of
interest in custody. Companies on the ticket were EN25, M25, M50,
