Now opening doors to endless career opportunities
Garland ISD’s 2014 bond program promised voters a state-of-the-art facility with Career and Technical Education
programs to prepare students for a successful future. The new Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Center opened
its doors this school year, welcoming students from all seven high schools. The GRCTC offers more than 90 advanced-
level courses, including a new firefighting and EMT partnership with the City of Garland and El Centro College. The
Center also boasts the state’s first cybersecurity classes, numerous professional certifications and a simulated city for
sixth-graders to learn civic and financial responsibilities. Visit garlandisd.net/grctc for more information.
