Supporting innovative teaching and learning,
the Garland ISD Education
Foundation (GEF) awarded nearly
$200,000 in scholarships and grants to
students and staff during 2016-17. In addition,
the annual GEF Golf Tournament and Employee
Giving Campaign raised $157,344 to fund even
more scholarships and grants.
Sachse High School students and the Sachse
Fire Department have partnered to bring a
21st-century training experience to first responders.
Students are building a virtual reality, interactive
simulation that will allow trainees to drive through
the actual city of Sachse, manipulate a fire engine and
firefighting equipment, and respond to emergencies.
