The Garland ISD Education
Foundation surprised staff with
approximately $90,000 in
grants and scholarships
this spring, including $30,000 in
Texas Instruments Foundation
Innovations in STEM Teaching
Awards. Christine Brewer from
Bussey Middle School, Sean Denny
from North Garland High School
and Tim Hahnl from South Garland
High School each received $5,000
for their classrooms and $5,000 for
personal use.
The GISD community
backed the future by
supporting local PTAs and
increasing overall
membership by
more than 10 percent in
2015-16. The Garland ISD Council
of PTAs’ new Angel Membership
program helped bolster support,
offering individuals and businesses
four levels of
sponsorship
packages.
