Cause for
thought
Colleagues across our business have been working
hard to raise money for charities close to their hearts.
More for Malawi
Kelly Muckley, Senior Category Manager, raised £945
through a tech sale at our Support Centre in Acton for
The Mix and Friends of Mulanje Orphans (FOMO).
“I volunteer for FOMO, which supports over 5,000 orphans
in one of Malawi’s poorest areas, providing clothes, food,
medical supplies and education.
“I’ve been out there twice myself, and I know this will make
a real difference to some of the most underprivileged people
in the world. Thanks everyone for your support.”

Assistant Category Manager
Georgia Chalk raised £1,200 for
Muscular Dystrophy UK through
a tech sale organised in Acton.
“My mum has muscular dystrophy.
It’s a disease that degenerates the
body’s core
muscles over
time, to the
point where
patients can no longer do simple things
like eating and brushing their hair,”
said Georgia.
“There is no cure, and treatment is
expensive, but the money we’ve raised
so far will make a big difference.
It’s much appreciated!” David Morrison, Customer
Consultant at Dixons Travel in
Newcastle Airport, will be climbing
Everest on 28 June in support of
Prostate Cancer UK.
“Me and three
friends will be climbing
17,600ft through
the Himalayas over
15 days, with only each
other for company.

Truro
heroes
Currys PC World colleagues in Truro raised money for
the Children’s Department at the Royal Cornwall Hospital
with activities including a fancy dress day.
“Currys PC World has supported Royal Cornwall
Hospital for over 10 years now,” said Assistant Manager
Tamsen Cooper. “Our customers have been extremely
generous and we have realised just how passionate
the public in general are about the hospital.”
Jannet Aust, Store Manager, added: “We love working
with local companies and helping to support local families.
We know just how hard doctors and nurses work, and we
wanted to say thank you.”
