12 WINTER 2016
CELEBRATING
20 CODERDOJOS IN ONE YEAR
One of our biggest success
stories of 2015 was
undoubtedly the popularity
of our CoderDojo Ayrshire
sessions which we hosted on
our campuses and in other
locations across the region.
We held a staggering 20
CoderDojos last year, which
shows that young people in
Ayrshire are keen to learn
new computing skills.
For anyone unaware,
CoderDojos are coding
clubs for 7-17 year olds to
learn how to code, develop
websites, build apps, games
and more.
One of the great things
about the CoderDojo
sessions is that they are free
and accessible to all! No
previous coding experience is
necessary.
Organising 20 CoderDojos
in one year is a phenomenal
achievement and only
possible because staff and
students volunteer their time
to run the clubs.
If you know someone who
would be interested in
attending a CoderDojo, you
can e-mail loraine.johnston@
ayrshire.ac.uk for updates
on when the next events will
take place.
