CONNECT Magazine Volume 1 - Issue 6 | Page 32

Originally, when I planned on writing this article, I was going to take all live action films and compare and contrast the ratings of their soundtracks vs the original Disney movies. Well, needless to say that times have changed and the new movies don’t have soundtracks, they have playlists or individual songs that may or may not have done as well, and they sure as heck were not as popular as the original Disney movies. Therefore, I am highlighting for you the original Disney movie songs that came up over and over again in the research, thus prompting my belief that these must be the top rated songs in the franchise. Disclaimer: Connect Magazine does not own the rights to any of these songs or movies. These are all owned by the Disney Corporation. Note: If we were going off of the most popular song/ soundtrack of all Disney films, Frozen’s “Let It Go” would be listed here. However, this list is based on movies that have been turned into Live Action features. #1: The Lion King Naturally, Disney’s highest grossing animated feature would also have the highest selling/charting soundtrack. It came up on every single list we found which leads us to believe it may be your favorite, too. Soundtrack includes: “Circle of Life”; “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?”; Hakuna Matata; “Just Can’t Wait to Be King”; “Be Prepared”, and many more. The live action film didn’t add many songs that you could sing along with, but it did include “Spirit” by Beyonce. 32
