New (school) Year Resolutions

Now that you have returned to school after what was (hopefully) a restful summer holiday, it’s likely you will be thinking about how to approach the new school year. Whether this is as a new member of staff, or as a returning member of staff, you’ll need to decide on priorities for the upcoming year – your new school year resolutions.

For myself as a History teacher, this could be generic (keeping up with exercise book marking was one of mine for several years in a row!) but could, and maybe should, be subject specific. With this in mind, here are a few suggestions on possible new school year resolutions:

1 - Spend time contributing to to the discussion area on the NAU History (or other) community. As members of Nord Anglia University, we are fortunate to have a resource that connects us to fellow practitioners across the world. The discussion area gives us the chance to discuss common issues, such as how to best deliver new syllabi, whether we are marking coursework correctly or how to plan for an enquiry based scheme of work. You could write your own questions, or contribute and help a colleague. You can find a list of all our communities here.
