CARAS in session
We were tasked with hosting a
conference event that would engage
current Council for Awards & Royal
Agricultural Societies (CARAS)
members and provide an industry
wide platform for knowledge transfer.
Targets included networking and to
improve brand awareness for the
organisation.
Engagement of new audiences
was at the heart of this event. The
CARAS conference was initially
booked for the standard room
conference. What made it a game
changer was the organisation’s
ambition to engage with a new
audience at the same time as
engaging with current membership
at the annual conference along with
providing a platform for learning
while engaging a wider network of
professional organisations across
their sector.
This ‘open door’ attitude lead to an
increased conference delegate
engagement level from 80 to an

astonishing 600. The site really was
at the heart of that decision-making
process for the CARAS organisers.
Our facilities were able to
accommodate the need for a private
traditional conference room to allow
for a small council meeting to take
place alongside welcoming the 600
openly invited day delegates into the
conference hall which also
accommodated large scale
machinery and 40 trade stand and
sponsorship partners. Trade stand
and sponsor engagement increased
as a stronger event atmosphere was
created offering space for delegates
to move freely around the central
speaker’s stage area.
The CARAS event was the merging
of the conferencing and event
concepts, showing a greater visitor
engagement, and achieving the key
outcomes of the day to
accommodate the physical needs
and aspirational ambitions of our
clients.
