he Royal Welsh
Showground, home to the
Royal Welsh Agricultural
Society, is set in the heart
of Wales and is one of the most
unique venues Wales has to offer.
Centrally located and host to one
of Europe’s largest agricultural
shows, this accommodating site
offers conference and event
organisers flexibility. With current
trends pushing organisers and
delegates to interact and engage on
new levels, the venue presents a
blank canvas with limitless
opportunities.
The 150 acres of open space has
a large selection of adaptable indoor
and outdoor spaces. Established as
a permanent site in 1963 the
developments to the site continue
today. Boasting a permanent 4G
mobile phone mast, superfast
broadband and plans to be a 1GB
site by 2021, connectivity certainly
isn’t an issue. Host to over 400
events from small meetings,
conferences, weddings and
large-scale events the
site is adapting to be
more diverse. 2018
saw the Eistedford

crowds and a new
elements of
entertainment venues to
the show ground, with exiting
livestock buildings transformed
into professional staged
performance pavilions. The venue
has played host to national events
with shopping aisles accommodating
competitors and large crowds.
Continual upgrading of facilities is
essential and must embrace new
and large events for up to 70,000.
There are four main conference
areas:
Hafod a Hendre has four rooms:
Room 1 the largest with capacity
for up to 150 in theatre style
down to Room 3 at the other
end which can welcome up to
40 delegates.
The two-storey
International Pavilion
offers views out over
the Welsh countryside.
The lower room is the largest
which, in theatre style, can hold
up to 120 delegates.
The President’s Pavilion is an
elegant single-storey annex
building suitable for board
meetings for up to 20 delegates.
Lastly, the Awards Office is the
