Dundas Castle has launched
a TV and film location service
uxury five-star venue,
Dundas Castle, has
launched a support
service for film crews using
the estate for locations and production.
Following the recent success of filming at
the Castle including: BBC Worldwide on
Ladies of London; Soapbox for Disney;
Chinese firm Rais Mice Ltd; and Lime
Pictures for Celebs Go Dating; the Castle
team has created a dedicated service
that makes using the Castle and Estate
as a film location easy and stress-free.
From the first enquiry, production
companies have a dedicated film location
manager and with accommodation
supplier agreements, catering packages,
location facilities and administrative
support, working with the Castle has
never been easier. The expert team
understand the needs of production and
provides a full support service
throughout.
Popular locations for filming have been
the 600-year-old Stag Chamber, which
was digitally re-cast for the Disney Brave
film; the lawns of the estate overlooking
the 18th century Castle where viewers
watched falconry displays and pipers
greeted guests; and the sumptuous
bedrooms where the Ladies of London
lounged before breakfast in the Croquet
Room. With the 200-seater Pavilion and
breakout rooms, there are modern
facilities for TV crews, and the location,
only 15 minutes from Edinburgh airport,
could not be more accessible. The Film
Location Service is available on request.
Owner, Sir Jack Stewart Clark comments:
“Scotland is becoming increasingly
popular as a film location, with the
production companies behind shows
such as Outlander and films including
Marvel’s Avengers franchise, recognising
the natural beauty of the setting we
have here.
“The team at Dundas Castle has worked
extensively with TV and film crews. This
has helped us to create a service which
ensures the smoothest experience for
production companies working here. Our
beautiful Castle and extensive estate offer
a wide range of film backdrops. Being so
near the city and the airport also brings
complete convenience. We are always
happy to welcome filming at Dundas.”
Dundas Castle is situated 10 minutes
from Edinburgh Airport, which has direct
flights from around the world.
It is only 25 minutes from the centre of
Edinburgh, yet is nestled within its own
400 acres of secluded Estate, and so is
an idyllic hideaway for family getaways, for
those looking for privacy and minimal
distractions, with a focus on luxury,
comfort and a true home-from-home feel.
