One of Yorkshire’ s most famous sporting venues welcomed players and the public for a quiz in aid of homelessness charity, Centrepoint. Headingley Carnegie Stadium provided a suitably sporting setting for the Ultimate Sports Quiz, sponsored by Provident Financial and hosted by BBC Sport’ s John Inverdale. And the event attracted a crowd of around 100 people keen to watch first team players from Yorkshire Carnegie, Leeds Rhinos and The Yorkshire County Cricket club test their sporting knowledge alongside members of the public. Throughout the day, chefs from the Headingley Experience, which manages conferences at the venue, served a variety of Yorkshirethemed meals and snacks. Jacqui Page, area sales manager at the Headingley Experience, said:“ We are a popular choice for corporate and charity events with a sporting theme, for obvious reasons – and it’ s always lovely for us to be able to showcase some of our Yorkshire ingredients and recipes.“ It was a hugely enjoyable evening for a very worthwhile cause.” www. conference-news. co. uk
