5 Christmas Case study: CEMEs like a good idea Academic venue makes the grade with Christmas party graduation CEME was established in 2003 as part of a £400m regeneration programme in East London with the task of bringing prosperity and employment to the area via the regeneration of the manufacturing, engineering and technology sector. Since that time the venue has made waves in the events industry. With capacity for up to 350 delegates, CEME is a player in the burgeoning academic venues sector. www.conference-news.co.uk Case Study A Corporate Christmas Party was held at CEME by The London School of Academics, which booked one of CEME’s Classic Winter Wonderland Christmas parties. The school wanted to combine it with its student Graduation evening. The request needed CEME’s events team to be able to combine the delivery of high quality festive hospitality with a carefully staged and choreographed, awards evening. Over 150 students graduating from the School were presented with their certifi cates and were still able to participate in an evening of fi ne festive fayre and experience the dancing, entertainment and partying of the Winter Wonderland themed Christmas evening. Ranjith Kumar, events manager at CEME, explained: “Because the Christmas parties are so full-on with a tight programme for the meal service and entertainment schedule, accommodating the awards ceremony as part of the evening’s celebration required exact timings and full compliance from everyone in the events team. Exceeding our customer’s expectations is one of CEME’s values, so, of course, all the team were exceptional in ensuring the very best service to every guest making the evening a huge success.” The client booked again and demonstrated that CEME’s commitment to the highest standards of event service and customer care provide ‘an assurance of excellence’ with all the hundreds of events that they deliver every year.
