Launched by organisers Imago Techmedia in 2015, the event is designed for those looking to find out how the latest IT innovations can drive and support their business and transition to a digital future. 2018 was another record year for IP EXPO Manchester. The event saw over 6,500 delegates pass through the doors across two days. Delegates had access to over 100 exhibitors and over 100 exclusive seminar sessions, including keynote talks from former GCHQ director Robert Hannigan, the man credited with drawing up the UK’s first Cyber Security Strategy, and Dr Hannah Fry the mathematician best known for her work on a range of BBC documentaries and her long-running BBC Radio 4 podcast, The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry. Bradley Maule-ffinch, director of strategy for IP Expo Event Series explained why Manchester and Manchester Central was an obvious choice when it came to hosting their event: “Manchester is one of the major tech hubs in the UK, indeed some of the brightest minds in the industry have come from the city. When we decided to bring IP EXPO to the north, Manchester was an obvious choice. We chose Manchester Central as the home for our event initially due to its central location in the city, making it easy for our exhibitors, speakers and delegates from across the globe to visit.
