Rachel Ley was working on the ITM Buyer
Achievement Awards and came up with a
unique game show entertainment format, using
original takes on popular TV programmes from the
past to produce a game show ‘mash-up’. The
nomination read: “The event completely surpassed
the client’s expectations and saw Vernon Kay ask to
extend the evening by a further hour because
everyone was having too much fun.
“Highlights included an original take on The Price is
Right, Family Fortunes and The Generation Game. The
latter saw audience members carrying objects across
the stage to replicate the conveyor belt game and all
400 guests on 40 tables competing to see who could
create the best balloon model of an aeroplane.”

DRPG is a full-service creative agency with
its HQ based in Worcestershire. The agency
is a familiar name on the event industry circuit and has
been expanding through acquisitions in recent years.
What stands them out
The agency has adopted a new policy in-house to
encourage deeper thinking. The nomination read: “In
2018 we saw a real shift in behaviours across live with
people stepping up and working together, our company
values shone through as well as many individuals
coming through as shining stars. There was a new level
of respect for team members but driven at that level we
saw people challenge each other in positive ways,
removing animosity and driving for the same goals.
“Collaboration and new ways of working was at the
front of everyone’s minds, this in turn raised our service
offering and resulted in increased productivity and client
satisfaction.”
How it is measured
The efforts of DRPG’s operations team saw an increase
in productivity and efficiency, achieving record sales
with growth of 10% up on previous year. However, DRPG
says they saw a reduction of costs by an impressive
14% and on some projects an overall reduction of 20%.
What the judges said
“Overcoming the challenges and proven results makes
this the winner.”
