Christmas Parties
Brokering a good Christmas bash
It was an on-time departure for the Broker Network at the National
Railway Museum in 2018. Nikki Lee, internal and member events programme
manager at the Broker Network, answers our questions
hat was the brief?
We held our staff
Christmas party on 13
December 2018, bringing our 120
employees together to celebrate a
good year and have a fun evening.
Why did you choose the National
Railway Museum for your
Christmas party?
We had previously held an event at
the museum and knew that the food
was guaranteed to be good! We also
wanted a venue which allowed for
exclusive hire of the space within our
budget, which the museum delivered
with bespoke exclusive Christmas
Package that included an arrival
drink, a delicious three-course set
menu and a DJ performance.
What happened throughout the
event?
The evening kicked off with a drinks
reception in Station Hall followed by
a three-course dinner, which
included dishes such as red pepper
and spinach roulade with garlic &
chive cream cheese, heritage tomato
salad and balsamic vinegar, roasted
escalope of turkey with a pork and
cranberry stuffing, wrapped in bacon
and served with all the trimmings
and a winter fruit cheesecake with
star anise poached pear and vanilla
Chantilly cream.
We then held a charity raffle with
prizes before enjoying a live band
www.conference-news.co.uk
and dancing, before the party ended
around midnight.
How were the logistics managed?
The main logistics for running the
event from our side were the creation
of a table plan and organising
transport for everyone, which we
solved by arranging a coach to take
us all to and from the venue.
Would you recommend it?
NRM was a great venue to hold our
annual Christmas Party. Everything
ran seamlessly, and the food was
great. We received many
compliments from staff, everyone
enjoyed the evening and loved the
venue.
