“ The buzz from producing a big charity show in Liverpool with a local audience is second to none”
t Mills Media Creative, we relish all our live event projects. Whether it’ s the Liverpool Law Society Awards, Wirral Chamber of Commerce’ s Business Awards or a Winter Ball fundraiser for WaterAid, we always strive to be 100 % on top of our game. The annual Liverpool Sporting Dinner is certainly a favourite. The show raises huge money for two amazing organisations: the Lord’ s Taverners and Dallaglio Rugby Works foundation, set up by England World Cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio. For 2017, we returned to Liverpool’ s Rum Warehouse venue at the Titanic Hotel. The setting offers the ideal space and has quickly established itself as the premier location in the region. Our company has been supporting The Lord’ s Taverners for over 20 years and previous participants offer a veritable Who’ s Who of the sporting and entertainment world. Sir Michael Parkinson, Steve Davis, John Bishop, Phil Tufnell, Andrew Ridgeley, Gareth Edwards, Alan Ball, Austin Healy, Barry McGuigan and Chris Tarrant are just a brief selection of stars that have appeared on stage.
Fundraising Fun!
Wirral-based agency Mills Media is an expert in producing the big event goods in Liverpool. Creative director Barrie Farrell explains
Our role is simple – to produce a live show that entertains, excites and educates the audience and, therefore, assists in raising much needed funds for the respective charities. That’ s why we have strived to improve each event year on year. Our professionalism and experience are certainly tested but we’ ve come to appreciate the direct correlation between guests enjoying the evening and the amount of money raised from auctions, raffles and games! As in previous years, Mills Media Creative produced the entire show, which featured three large format screens, five live cameras, a feast of lighting around the venue and a comprehensive sound set-up for host and auctioneer Jonny Gould and his on-stage guests. Our in-house design team created artwork for all printed banners, brochures and screen shows and we also provided extensive photographic services to capture the evening as it unfolded. The Liverpool Sporting Dinner utilised the resources of the entire company and our team worked passionately to ensure we delivered on the night. The 460 guests certainly did the Liverpool city region proud as money raised on the night reached almost £ 40,000 taking the cumulative fundraising figure to over half a million pounds. Events such as these are long in the making, complex and time consuming in their planning and execution, but the buzz from producing a big charity show in Liverpool with a local audience is second to none. As a creative production team in the live events business, we can never rest on our laurels, so the Mills Media creatives are already hard at work on the next show. We say, bring it on! www. conference-news. co. uk
