COMMUNITY SPIRIT OF ‘ 24

n this issue we step back to take a strategic overview of where the UK events industry stands as we move into the New Year and beyond . Importantly , we also talk to some of the leading figures in our Four Nations , as well as Ireland to find out where our strengths lie and how best to talk and work with government for the benefit of all . Rick Stainton , the driving force behind The Power of Events ( PoE UK ) – our new industry resource that can now be relied upon to come up with the data , information and connections binding the multifarious layers of our events industry tapestry – hits the key bullet points to remember as we look to strengthen our identity in the market .
He also underlines the importance of education in our sector , as we fight for talent . There really are rewarding careers to be had in our exciting and creative industry , but finding the right pathway can be like running into a maze . The PoE aims to bring clarity and Conference News is backing that up , amplifying your new messages and news for 2024 . Come with us on that journey and share your experiences , knowledge and skills and together we can make a big difference to society and the economy , for events really are a wonderful world and the single most effective marketing channel bar none .
And , finally , a word of thanks to Cameron Roberts and Louisa Daley who have steered CN in recent times . We wish them both every success in their future career paths and at the same time welcome on board some new correspondents to our growing team . I do hope some of you will be able to meet us all at International Confex at ExCeL London 28-29 February .
In any case , we look forward to reflecting your successes and exploring the challenges of our rich UK conference and events industry throughout 2024 . CN
