WHAT ’ S KEY FOR 2023 ?

Tori Phillips , producer , DRPG , says eventprofs need to create even more memorable events in 2023 . She predicts three key trends that will help do so
ast year , we saw the return of live events alongside the now familiar , existing hybrid and virtual events . With companies confirming their staffing models and employees having finalisation of their work environment , this year ’ s prediction is that live events will come back bigger and better , but with new expectations .
Personalisation for delegates As live events make a comeback , organisers will be looking for ways to make their events stand out and enhance engagement . Delegates will be looking for an experience that is tailored to their specific interests , needs and goals .
Personalisation can be achieved in several ways , such as personalised agendas , sessions and networking opportunities , or even personalised swag and gifts . Additionally , organisers can use bespoke communication to ensure that each delegate feels valued and respected . This can include sending personalised emails and messages , or simply making sure that their preferred pronoun is on their badge .
Immersive experiences This year , organisers will be looking for ways to create an experience that is truly unforgettable for delegates . This will include experimenting with new technologies , interactive installations , and other immersive elements to create a unique experience . This could include things like virtual and augmented reality , live-streamed events , projection mapping and more .
We are already talking about involving all five senses , such as incorporating scents and flavours in the event . This would help in creating a memorable experience that would stay with the attendees long after the event is over .
Inclusive accessibility Another important aspect that we should consider is making the events more inclusive and accessible to attendees of all abilities , and technology has made it a lot easier for us to achieve that .

We ’ ve even gone so far as to creating an app for delegates to use , which will provide the relevant solution within an experience utilising location settings .
