FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD

Eventprofslive explores how you can make your catering sustainable , inclusive and accessible
e are obsessed with food at Eventprofslive , and working with a caterer from the outset is a fun element for us and our members .
Throughout the process , we can explore ideas to ensure that a caterer ’ s offerings are sustainable and inclusive for all . We can unleash our creativity to incorporate the food and beverage ( F & B ) offering into the overall creative look and feel of an event .
Sustainability and inclusivity Sustainable events are high on our agendas ; the catering element of an event is an area where our sustainable hats are always on . Working with a caterer to understand the global footprint of the ingredients is crucial to ensure that locally sourced , and in-season produce , is used as much as possible . We think it ’ s a great idea to showcase this effort to your attendees by including a map of where the food has been sourced .
As well as the produce , looking at food wastage is another area where we can contribute towards making a difference to the environment . To avoid food wastage and to support any CSR initiatives , you can work with your caterer to identify charities to donate leftover food to after an event ; sadly , this is not straightforward due to various health and safety laws . However , a good caterer will be able to advise on this .
We always want to ensure that our events are fully inclusive and

accessible . From a catering perspective , this includes being aware of and catering for any dietary requirements of our attendees . For drinks , we ensure that there are non-alcoholic alternatives from beers , wines and sparkling options . We also work with caterers to ensure that the dishes are as identical as possible , so that no one feels they are missing out .
A fun part of the catering process is working with the caterer to incorporate the creative elements of the overall theme / brand of the event . For us , this has previously included : having canapé trays created in the shape of game consoles for an event connected with gaming ; having a newspaper with our details on that wrapped the fish and chips ; and a Breakfast at Tiffany ’ s food station with ‘ diamonds ’.

trends they are seeing from a catering perspective when working with corporate event professionals .
She shared : “ There is more emphasis on smaller and more intimate events . We are helping our clients create unique , thoughtful and authentic experiences and creating the right ambience to build connections with their attendees .
“ We will always encourage elements within our catering offering to help create an immersive experience for guests .
“ Seeing more of a socially conscious steer , with a focus on mental and physical wellbeing and the drive towards a more sustainable future . We are leaning more towards healthier , and more eco-friendly dishes and concepts with our ingredients all sourced as locally , seasonally and sustainably as possible , and with much thought towards minimising any wastage .”
We can ’ t wait to experience some of these trends with Caper & Berry at our upcoming Eventprofslive member event in October . CN
