What challenges are you facing ? The biggest challenge we are facing at the moment is the lead times on events . Many events are booked 2 – 6 weeks ahead and it can be very tough to turn these around whilst still meeting our response targets . We ’ re also facing rising inflation and potentially a recession in the coming months , it ’ s an especially challenging time for venues , staff and clients . With the learnings of the pandemic and previous recessions we are in a strong position to be able to support out clients and meet with their needs .
Along with Ministry Venues , what other projects are you involved with ? I also run EventHuddle ; a monthly , free to attend , educational , networking event for the Events Industry . It ’ s a chance for us to get together and discuss / debate the topics currently affecting the industry . The topic is picked by the attendees and features a guest panel of industry experts . Recent topics have included ‘ The future impact of

Blockchain on the events industry ’, ‘ Podcasting - how it can help to grow your business ’, and education on sustainability and mental health . It ’ s an important forum , and a project that is very close to my heart .
What does the future hold ? The future for me is to watch the team grow and develop . Many of the team are early on their journey in this magnificent industry and to be able to support them and let them shine could not make me happier . I am happiest when they succeed and , as much as they are learning from myself , I am also learning from them . With this industry you can never settle , and it is the innovation and spontaneous ideas that make us such a great industry to work in . With our team expanding and our new location in Shepherd ’ s Bush set to open in 2024 , I ’ m incredibly excited at what the future holds for Ministry Venues .
