Cardiff Metropolitan University , a well-established policy is in place to deliver sustainability on many levels across the business . “ This means that the Conference Services department can promote sustainable practices with confidence ,” she says . “ Indeed , our food and drink offer has received many awards from organisations such as Sustainable Restaurants Association along with recognition for many individual initiatives .”
The university works with local food suppliers , has reduced its use of packaging , and improved the availability of healthy options .
Mark Gallagher , cluster general manager at voco ® St David ’ s Hotel & Spa explains , “ In 2018 , The hotel was rebranded under the voco ® brand which has a strong commitment to sustainability . We are actively showing how sustainability is part of our business model ”.

coordinator , speaks passionately about the city ’ s standing on the UK scene . “ In 2021 , Cardiff became one of six Sustainable Food Places in the UK with a Silver Award and has launched its strategy to achieve gold within three years ,” she says .
For the past three years , Meet in Cardiff and its partners have been running workshops face to face and online for tourism operators in the city . The aim is to demonstrate how they can be part of the Cardiff story , provide tips on suppliers and menu planning and to review their sustainability practices .
