SHAPING THE EVENTS

ast month , the Business Visits and Events Partnership ( BVEP ), the umbrella body and advocacy group representing the UK events sector , launched its Shape of Events Report , which was compiled using responses from more than 300 professionals and organisations from across the UK events sector . industry and how it can support the building back better agenda .
The effects of Covid-19
There is no point sugar coating the effects that the Covid-19 pandemic has had across our industry . The UK events sector has been hit even harder than the hospitality sector with restrictions effectively closing down the sector from March 2020 to June 2021 , with the exception of meetings for up to 30 people . We didn ’ t benefit from summer staycations , the ‘ Eat Out to Help Out ’ scheme and inbound travel was practically non-existent .
From March 2020 , overall event activity was down 95 % across the UK and we estimate that
