THE WHOLE EVENTS and hospitality industry has taken a knock with COVID-19 . The impact is devastating . Here at the Bath & West Showground we are adapting and moving with these unusual times . We continue offering COVID-safe conference and meeting space , taking enquiries and bookings and working with clients new and old filling the diary for next year .
We have a huge range of facilities to meet all budgets from a small meeting for 4 delegates to a large conference for hundreds . Over recent weeks , we have successfully hosted fully COVID-safe meetings for 30 attendees . Feedback from organisers was overwhelmingly positive . Confident in measures put in place to ensure social distancing , above all , they felt safe here .
Our Wessex Pavilion offers space to seat 850 over two floors in a variety of configurations , including having two functions to take place simultaneously as both are self-contained .
The Thatcher ’ s Suite can host 500 theatre style with foyer cloakrooms , catering servery and licensed bar , together with AV facilities . The Butcombe Bar above can host 350 theatre style , with matching facilities and disabled lift access . Both are serviced by our in-house hospitality team and have welcoming outside space to complement . Each can be turned into high-end dining rooms suitable for award and presentation events .
Our flagship building , The Showering Pavilion , is flexible enough for large conferences on a national scale , equalling purpose-built city centre venues . With an impressive balcony space and breakout units around the ground floor , it has access to The Thatcher ’ s Suite through a link tunnel .
Our Lecture Theatre with tiered seating for 120 and Lounge / Classroom area above is newly refurbished , perfect for lunches , breakout sessions and smaller functions . Another five exhibition halls of varying sizes can be booked independently for smaller events , or linked for something bigger .
Outside , the site is ideal for many activities with truck driving , leisure vehicle towing / manoeuvring courses and young driver experiences taking place .
