More than 58,000 people took part in London Tech Week in 2019 , generating £ 54.4m in economic benefit
ondon Tech Week ( LTW ) is Europe ’ s largest annual festival of live tech events taking place across the capital . The established crowdsourced city-wide festival of events showcases tech innovation and success , connecting the global tech community and driving change . It is an opportunity for global leaders to share their expertise and knowledge in hundreds of venues across London .
London & Partners co-founded LTW with Tech London Advocates and Informa in 2014 to promote and build the city ’ s thriving tech sector .
No other festival of live events brings together as many domestic and international tech founders and entrepreneurs to London for such a variety of networking , social , learning and business opportunities .
In 2019 , LTW hosted over 300 events and brought together 58,000 attendees , 35 % of which were international visitors to the UK capital . Over 1,000 speakers were involved in LTW last year , including Theresa May , who opened the week ’ s
events and Jack Dorsey , co-founder and CEO of Twitter .
London Tech Week brings economic , business and professional benefit to London . Last year , the festival generated £ 3.2m in gross value added ( GVA ) for London , a calculation which captures the direct economic activity associated with the event . The economic benefit calculated for LTW 2019 was £ 54.4m , which represents the secondary economic impact of hosting the event .
In addition to celebrating the London tech industry and its

businesses London case study and talent , London Tech Week also fosters foreign direct investment into London , as tech companies set up or expand in London as a result of participating in London Tech Week .
In 2020 , in light of the pandemic , London Tech Week hosted two virtual event series , # LTWConnects in June and a larger virtual LTW festival in September . While the festival was fully virtual , LTW 2020 attracted over 20,000 attendees and hosted 750 + speakers including Eric Schmidt , former CEO and chairman of Google , and health secretary Matt Hancock .
