& J Live opened in September 2019 and is Scotland ’ s newest live events venue . The £ 333m venue was delivered by Aberdeen City Council in partnership with Henry Boot Developments and replaced the Aberdeen Exhibition Conference Centre ( AECC ). Since its opening , P & J Live strives to set new standards in entertainment , conference and exhibition event delivery .

What ’ s on offer ?

The venue offers seven conference suites , three flexible exhibition halls , 11 meeting rooms and a 9,000sqm arena . These purpose-built conference spaces are spread over two levels , which aims to help event organisers plan and deliver a seamless event experience . There is also digital signage across the two levels to provide a clear route around the venue , and sustainable branding opportunities .

With audio-visual equipment throughout , P & J Live strives to provide an immersive experience that captures delegates ’ attention . Each exhibition hall benefits from carpeting , meaning organisers have less waste and makes for a shorter , more cost-effective build .

P & J Live has set new standards in sustainability , achieving a BREEAM rating of ‘ excellent ’ to become the most sustainable venue of its kind in the UK . The venue produces its own energy from a combination of food and agricultural waste from the venue and surrounding areas . This waste is processed in an anaerobic digestion plant , and the gases produced are transferred to the hydrogen fuel cell plant . The combination of these , in turn , produce hydrogen as a by-product , which provides all the heating , cooling and power for P & J Live and the two on-site hotels . The team also work with key partners to ensure the overall event is being delivered to a high sustainable standard . On-site , P & J Live has 7km of walkways and large open green spaces , where more than 29,000 trees and shrubs are planted , providing outside breakout spaces for delegates .

Couple this with air , rail and road connectivity and 350 on-site hotel bedrooms , the venue has successfully welcomed conferences and events from a variety of sectors in its few short months of operation .
