Venue Tips
Three London
venues with
a place in
history
Looking for a venue
with strong historical
links in London?
Try one of these, as
recommended by
Hirespace
London has been
occupied for
more than 2,000
years. Once the
heart of the
British Empire
which ruled more
than a quarter of
the world, there is
no shortage of
venues of
historical
significance. In
fact, this issue of
Conference News
includes a feature
dedicated to
some of them
(p29). In the
meantime, why
not try one of
these jewels?
RSA House
Sat just off Strand in Central
London, and home to the Royal
Society for the encouragement
of Arts, Manufactures and
Commerce, RSA House is an
outstanding example of a
historical event space that has
been brought firmly into the
modern-day.
The Great Room is
dominated by the epic series of
paintings, such as The Progress
of Human Knowledge and
Culture by James Barry, a fitting
backdrop to your next
conference.
It was also the location of the
first demonstration of the
telephone by Alexander
Graham Bell in 1877.
Following a day of talks, you can
move down into the Vaults for
the after-party. Featuring
striking 18th Century exposed
brickwork, the range of four
spaces are ideal for all events.
The Brewery
h Club
A favourite for creative
industries, h Club is the
perfect space to host your
next event. A venue that
inspires diverse thinking,
makers and doers through
innovation and culture, h Club
has a range of spaces perfect
for your delegates to consume
content in the day and
network at night. Located in
the heart of London’s West
End, h Club is not just a space
for your conventional events
but is also home to a TV
Studio, an art gallery and an
intimate screening room.
The Brewery on Chiswell
Street has been working night
and day for over 250 years,
hosting everyone from King
George III to modern-day
royalty including Kanye West,
Adele and Tom Hardy. Packed
full of original features, The
Brewery adds that extra ‘wow
factor’ with exposed beams,
vaulted ceilings and Georgian
windows, all tied together with
their own quirky branding.
With a wide range of
spaces, you will have plenty of
options for hosting both your
main conference, from 50 to
1,000 people, as well as
having the perfect spot for a
networking reception.
