Savoy Place has undergone constant development to cater for the evolving needs of conference goers . The venue offers two lecture theatres for 626 guests , a further 14 event spaces across three floors , and a roof terrace overlooking London . As the home of the Institution of Engineering and Technology , the venue is primarily used for STEM business events .
Striving to be a technology-focused conference venue , Savoy Place has various flagship meeting spaces including a lecture theatre and its Riverside Room , which underwent an additional £ 280k of AV investment in 2019 .
With 57 flexible spaces over 16,000sqm , the scope of Tobacco Dock provides clients with a range of conferencing options . “ Our clients love our great location , strong relationships with industry-leading suppliers and outstanding tech infrastructure ,” says the venue . Tobacco Dock ’ s spaces can accommodate up to 1,500 guests in a theatre layout or as few as six , which allows the venue to host events of all sizes .
Recently , the venue has undertaken improvements such as increasing its bandwidth to 10GB , to provide clients with a high-quality Wi-Fi capacity and to support its international event streaming . Additionally , the venue has created a hybrid studio , with 16m LED wall , luxury seating and HD quality recording equipment .
Tobacco Dock has also built a new production kitchen which allows the venue to cater for groups of up to 4,000 on site .
Bronze : The Royal College of Physicians
The Royal College of Physicians ( RCP ) is over 500 years old and currently in its fifth home since 1965 . The Grade I Listed building overlooks Regent ’ s Park houses and is home to conference and events centre , RCP London Events . The venue offers a range of facilities , including tiered auditoriums , conference , meeting , exhibition and dining spaces as well as a medicinal garden and a museum .
The RCP is committed to investing in the latest event technology services and advances . Prior to Covid-19 , the venue hosted over 600 physical events per year and offered streaming and editing services . At the start of the pandemic , RCP London Events pivoted to virtual and hybrid by developing an in-house virtual event platform , RCP Virtual . RCP also secured industry accreditations to ensure its venue was Covid secure for its guests .
