Through our weekly newsletters and updates, we have highlighted the positives and the difficulties we are facing and have directed our members to resources on our website. We hope that our EVCOM Sessions are engaging our membership and making smaller businesses and freelancers feel like they belong to a community that is concerned for their welfare. It is too early to draw conclusions on what the future may look like, but is a picture beginning to emerge? If businesses can access the government financial support and clients start committing to projects, we can return to ‘normal’, but public confidence needs to be addressed in a practical way. The hybrid event may be the way forward until we have a worldwide agreement on travel restrictions. I believe creative content and innovative activations will be fundamental. The sector will bounce back, but the ‘when’ and ‘what it will look like’, I’m not prepared to commit to without a crystal ball. Will any positives come out of this? As an industry, the way we have all supported each other has been immensely inspiring. It has showed us that our capabilities are greater when we work together. On top of this, the explosion of creativity, innovation and reinvention has been remarkable. It is this creative talent that is going to take us forward and make us stronger in the future.stronger in the future.
