heshire-based events agency , Make Events , won Medium Agency of the Year at this year ’ s
CN Agency Awards . As one of the few agencies who are not London-based , I asked Holly Moore , founder and CEO , Make Events , how it feels to be recognised by industry peers . “ About 50 % of our client database is in London , so winning this award is a real testament to the North and it shows what we can do ,” she says .
“ We brought Juliet Tripp into the agency to help us with our industry presence , so it ’ s the first time we have entered the awards . It ’ s amazing to put Manchester and Cheshire on the map amongst other amazing agencies ,” Moore added . So , what are the agency ’ s

plans for the next year ? “ We are going to launch our brand ‘ Anything is Possible ’. This has been an internal brand for a while , and it ’ s all about providing personal development training for our team .
“ We teach them different skills over and above the events industry job to help them set goals and be productive . We are rolling this out as a podcast , which is coming out in July , and as an empowerment conference , which will take place in March 2023 ,” she reveals .
This programme is something the judges praised . “ It ’ s a great initiative to create an in-house development programme , especially linking personal and professional . It ’ s a standout idea and great to see in a medium-sized agency .”

grow the agency . “ We want to double the size of our business and have our best year yet . This is based on no new business , and purely going off our current clients ,” she says . This dedicated growth demonstrates a “ strong , clear vision ” according to one of our judges .
Because of this , Moore stresses recruitment must also be a focus . “ With the ever-changing market , we need more senior people to deal with what we have on the books . Recruitment is a challenge because , at the moment , we are turning down new business enquiries . It ’ s all about building the infrastructure to back up and continue to produce high quality events . We have to be fit for purpose .” CN
