There has also been nationwide training in regenerative events and tourism . The developments that follow will see positive impacts in destination management , supply chain management , environmental stewardship , and Diversity , Equity and Inclusion ( DEI ). The leadership of Destination Canada plus the capacity building initiatives , effective communication , and our performance development approach , will increase the excellence in destination management across Canada .
There will be much more opportunity for planners to access impactful suppliers , partners , and tools . Incredible opportunities for collaboration and innovation will also arise .
CO : How can destination partners help facilitate the expansion of the initiative ? GB : There are over 100 global destinations on six continents participating , and this includes DMOs , convention bureaus , national tourism organisations and municipalities . The data proves that participation in the GDS Index drives results , and so we would love to invite other destinations to become part of a regenerative and resilient events economy that works for everyone .
We would like to invite suppliers , policymakers , and the whole industry to ask if their destination is part of the GDS Index . Improved destination sustainability strategies and effective action plans will help generate jobs and spread prosperity , inclusively and fairly .
