puts Taiwan on track
T
aking a brief look at a couple of country
movers in the ICCA rankings, recordbreaking Taiwan is catching the eye,
as it now sits in fourth place in Asia with 145
qualifying meetings (a record number for the
island).
And in the world country rankings, Taiwan
moved up six places to No. 28, its highest
mark since 2010.
Having hosted 92 ICCA-recognised
international association meetings in 2014,
the capital city of Taipei remains one of the
most popular meeting destinations in Asia,
only behind Singapore, Beijing, Seoul, and
Hong Kong.
The second largest city in Taiwan, the
southern harbour city of Kaohsiung, attracted
23 meetings and was 17th in the Asian city
ranking, its highest ever position.
Taichung, Hsinchu, and Tainan kept at a
steady level, while Yilan, Pingtung, Chiayi ,
Taoyuan, and Hualien all recorded rises in
association meetings that qualified in terms
of ICCA criteria.

Trade, for offering tailor-made services for
the bidding of international conferences
and cultivating bidding capabilities of local
Taiwan cities. Working with local NGOs, Meet
Taiwan has brought several international
conferences to Taiwan.
