USA drops out of top 20 in
Corruption Perceptions Index
The US fell outside the top 20 least corrupt countries
in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for the first
time since 2011.
CPI is published by Transparency International,
and measures public sector corruption in 180
countries and territories.
It named Somalia as the most corrupt country in
the world, and Denmark as the least corrupt.

Send-off for Vienna Convention
Bureau’s long-standing leader
Christian Mutschlechner, the long-serving head of the
Vienna Convention Bureau (VCB), received a special
send-off at Palais Wertheim on 1 February.
The event also introduced his successor, Christian
Woronka, who was part of the team that founded the
Cologne Convention Bureau.
Mutschlechner started his career in 1977 as a
trainee at the Vienna Airport tourist office, before
moving to the Vienna Tourist Board in 1985. He was
appointed head of the VCB in 1990.
