A destination that keeps evolving New cultural attractions and event spaces in the city include: The National Air and Space Museum. Its renovated galleries and immersive exhibits now create new possibilities for groups interested in aviation, space, science and technology. The National Geographic Museum of Exploration opened in June. Planners can tap into opportunities to hear directly from National Geographic Explorers and connect meetings to themes of discovery, science and global perspective. They join Smithsonian spaces, iconic buildings like the Library of Congress,

Three major airports serve the region, with Metrorail providing direct rail connections from Washington Dulles International Airport to downtown and an extensive public transportation network makes it easy to move between hotels, and venues. Capital Bikeshare, along with e-bikes and e-scooters, gives attendees additional options for getting around and exploring the city.
Strong momentum for 2027 and beyond Forthcoming meetings include the World Vaccine Congress and the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group. In 2027, Washington, DC will host the IEEE International Conference on Communications, the 37th Annual INCOSE International Symposium and the 109th Lions Clubs International Convention.
Further ahead are the 13th World Biomaterials Congress in 2028, the 49th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation in 2029 and the Alzheimer’ s Association International Conference in 2030.
Global perspective, local experience The business agenda does not have to stop when the meeting ends. There are curator-led museum visits, private programmes at the International Spy Museum, culinary events on the waterfront and neighbourhood tours.
At the neighbourhood level, places such as Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Navy Yard, The Wharf and Penn Quarter offer their own distinct attractions and gathering places.
