BESydney announces new CEO The chair of Business Events Sydney, professor Mary O’ Kane AC has announced the appointment of Amanda Lampe as the new CEO of the CVB, commencing 16 June 2025.
The appointment follows a global search, after current CEO Lyn Lewis-Smith announced in November 2024 she would be stepping down in July 2025. Professor O’ Kane, said Ms Lampe, who leaves her post as director of corporate relations at Diageo Australia, would be a great asset to BESydney as the NSW government prepares to release its Visitor Economy Strategy vision to 2035.

Largest Amway China in Austra Amway China delegates accounted for 32,000 room nights in Melbourne in April during what has been Australia’ s largest-ever incentive programme.
The event saw six waves of 2,500 delegates attend business sessions and gala dinners. Melbourne Showgrounds’ 35,000sqm of event space served as the anchor venue, with over 11,000 crayfish and 4.5 tonnes of porterhouse steak served to delegates during an incentive which marked Amway China’ s 30th anniversary. It is expected to generate $ 100m in economic impact.
