A s the labour market tightens in many places and recruitment rises to near the top of most businesses in the meetings industry ’ s list of challenges , maybe it ’ s time to think more about the packages on offer to new recruits . If we ’ ve learnt anything from the Covid period it is that things will never be the same . Adopting new working practices means a real holistic approach , especially to health and wellness . We are proud to launch a new section in our magazine , powered by Caesars Entertainment , devoted to just that . So do get in touch if you have some healthy recipes for event success and safeguarding both the physical and mental wellbeing of both your employees and your clients during events .

Are you well met ?

Managing editor , Paul Colston
There are plenty of organisers and planners designing in wellness areas to their events and programmes around the issue designed to keep everyone on top of their game and fit for event action .
Our editorial action takes us to Colombia , New Orleans and to Scotland in this issue and I hope our destination reports provide some interesting food for thought for planners . Colombia is certainly not South America ‘ lite ’ as some resort destinations on the continent are , keen to tap into the mighty US market but effectively diluting their brand ’ s edginess and charm for the easy bucks . Not so Bogota , which offers both value for money and an authentic Latin events vibe . Our interview with ProColombia ’ s tourism vice-president also backs up the claim with some strong numbers .
For all budding public speakers and MCs out there , I heartily recommend the interview with Paul Coia on pages 42-44 . There certainly is a craft about leading conferencing discussions and Paul draws on many years ’ experience of TV work and events presenting to share some key insights and tips .
Do , meet well , meanwhile , and do contribute your own news and views for sharing to the wider community on all issues that are key for you .
