Australia ’ s ‘ big business ’ travel takes off by 41 % as bookings soar
Big business travel in Australia took off by just over 41 % year-on-year for the first 11 months of 2023 , with multiple industries upping their bookings , according to FCM , Flight Centre Travel Group ’ s flagship large market corporate division .
Data from the Group reveals that Mining / Oil / Gas , and Government / NFP lead the charge for the most bookings , with a 46 % and 63 % increase respectively . Sydney retained the top spot as the number one destination , followed by Perth and Melbourne .

New Zealand ’ s BEIA welcomes new government , calls for recognition and a visitor levy
Following the formation of New Zealand ’ s new coalition government , the country ’ s business events industry used the opportunity for change to call for all-of-government recognition for the sector . Business Events Industry Aotearoa ( BEIA ) chief executive , Lisa Hopkins said : “ Our sector has immense potential to influence New Zealand ’ s economic and social indicators , and our global reputation as an exceptional world-class destination . We want to work with government to support the sector .”
