H ello and welcome to issue 119 of Conference & Meetings World , and we have a jam-packed magazine for you . Beginning on p12 , we take stock of where we are as an industry in the months that have followed COP26 which took place in Glasgow , UK , in November last year .

Certainly , sustainability was on the agenda at IMEX Frankfurt , but our review of the show this time focuses on topics discussed in the Policy Forum . It was great to be back in Germany to reconnect with industry colleagues – old and new – and to learn more about the ever-evolving venues which serve our audiences around the world . Read more on p15 .
We have also squeezed in several interviews in this issue . We begin with
Robin Mack from Tourism Australia ( p18 ), and then we speak to Dr Lesley Anne Bleankney , the newly appointed chief people officer at the global brand experience agency , Avantgarde , about sustainability , recruitment and the issues facing the meetings industry ( p23 ). We also speak to Gaining Edge executive chairman Gary Grimmer ( p25 ) about his distinguished career to date .
On p36 is another interview , as we talk to Carrie Kwik , executive director of Europe at Singapore Tourism Board , to discuss the country ’ s USPs , strategy and sustainability policies for the MICE industry .
We also have a range of destination features for you , starting by casting our eye over Monaco on p29 . On p32 , CMW reports from Switzerland , as Simon George gets caught up by the cup fever of the Switzerland
Meeting Trophy . The popular event made a welcome return in person in June after three years . It doesn ’ t stop there , either : our international reporter Oliver Thomas shares his findings following a trip around Athens ’ MICE monuments ( p34 ).
A brace of case studies from PICO ( p41 ) and the usual Technology round-up sees us home .
As you can tell then , we ’ ve been pretty busy , and I ’ m sure you have too . It ’ s good to be back at it .
