It offers support packages for corporate and association meetings or conferences with a minimum of 120 delegates which consist of a minimum of 10 % regional or international delegates / participants . There are certain criteria , including for the event to be a minimum of two full days and it must be held at participating campaign partner ’ s venue . Applications for support should be made to MyCEB at least 30 days prior to the event date .
The Malaysia Investment Development Authority ( MIDA ) is tasked with expediting the approval of visitors ’ entry to do business in Malaysia . Its One Stop Centre ( OSC ) has been set up to provide a Fast Track approval for short-term business travel . Business travellers need to submit their Entry Permission application to the OSC via MyEntry or MyTravelPass no less than 14 working days before arrival .
The scheme can also be used for those attending a business event from abroad .
WTCKL Green Screen Studio Over at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur ( WTCKL ), new services and events are planned for 2022 , including WTCKL ’ s Green Screen Studio for Virtual and Hybrid Events . Event planners can use the platform to hold virtual meetings , as well as being creative with branding and technology to stage quality hybrid events .
There is a WTCKL Business Club with co-working spaces where users can strengthen their relationship with the local and international associations using the space .
WTCKL is also rebranding and conducting an upgrade of its facilities and amenities . This has involved changing the name from Putra World Trade Centre ( PWTC ) to World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur ( WTCKL ).
Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre ( KLCC ) Emerging from some difficult times , KLCC , says it now has 50 domestic events across all segments confirmed for Q4 of 2021 and pending full re-opening of the business events sector . With the current 50 % physical capacity limit , the number is likely to be fewer .
As the National Recovery Council of Malaysia looks to open up the country ’ s international borders to vaccinated foreigners without quarantine requirement upon arrival , the KLCC is well-prepared with an arsenal of SOPs and the ‘ SafeBE ’ hygiene-label from Bureau Veritas .
Enhanced virtual and hybrid event technology and infrastructure are also being put in place .
KLCC general manager Alan Pryor tells CMW the expansion of the Centre ’ s food and beverage offerings have helped the business to reach customers outside its traditional target audience , in the absence of events .
“ Our team of chefs have crafted a sumptuous Christmas-special spread for home deliveries which will be made available for pre-orders November onwards . We are also exploring the opportunities for bespoke dining experiences ,” says Pryor .
“ We are also excited to share with CMW and its readers that , in line with our sustainability initiatives , we have just completed the instalment of a rainwater harvesting system that relies fully on gravity , resulting in zero-energy consumption . It was also designed by our own team member .
“ Leveraging from Kuala Lumpur ’ s high rainfall , about 280 days per year , the collected rainwater will be used to cleanse exhibition halls and loading bays as well as for gardening .
“ Four 300-gallon tanks , expected to fetch up to 1,200 gallons of rainwater at any one time , have been fitted on our rooftop .”

MyCEB campaigning and showcasing National convention bureau MyCEB took its ‘ Meet in Malaysia ’ campaign to Sarawak on 22 and 23 October 2021 as part of the work with the Sarawak State Government and industry partners . It was the first in-person event after the announcement made by prime minister YAB Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri on the reopening of the business events industry .
The Meet in Malaysia @ Sarawak roadshow was held in conjunction with the launch of Kuching as a member of the Hybrid City Alliance .
From 2010 until 2020 , MyCEB has supported 86 events for Sarawak , bringing in over 40,000 delegates which have contributed RM457m ( US $ 110.12m ) in estimated economic impact . And , since the Meet in Malaysia campaign launched on 24 July 2020 , it has supported four events that will be held in Sarawak , expecting 2,600 delegates and contributing to RM26.9m in economic impact , according to the government .
To date , Sarawak has secured 105 business events worth approximately RM332.1m in total economic impact , RM20m , in tax revenue and 26,354 jobs .
