Cannes rebounds and innovates

Grimaldi Forum

The Cannes Festival in July was a real success and a sign of the renewed confidence in the professionalism of Cannes and its ability to host international events .
Much work was done to put in place all the measures necessary to reassure the organisers and their clients , to bring them support and solutions : GBAC Star Facility sanitary certification , medical concierge , a digital studio and the Hi5 permanent studio at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès .
All the events that are usually held between September and December , were confirmed in 2021 , including Cannes Yachting Festival , MIPIM , Canneseries , MIPCOM , Tax Free World Exhibition , MAPIC , ILTM , Weyou Group Trade Fairs , Mare Di Moda . This professionalism and resilience offered a renewed hope for the events sector and for the Cannes economy .
One concrete measure to breed confidence was the move , after being
certified GBAC Star Facility , on 1 July 2021 , by the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès to launch a personalised medical support service in partnership with the French company Concilio . Accredited participants in trade shows and conferences can now enjoy comprehensive medical care 24 / 7 throughout their stay thanks to this medical concierge service – the first to be offered by a convention centre in France .
The venue has also placed a renewed stake on innovation and technology in its new facilities as part of its goal to support organisers ’ hybrid or 100 % digital events . A brand new Hi5 studio posesses its own set , equipped with state-of-the-art technologies that can be adapt to each client demand .
Another sign that Cannes is upbeat and shouting about its return is the video it has produced - 100 % Made-in-Cannes - a musical promotion paying homage to Elton John ’ s famous song I ’ m still Standing . Worth checking out .
