News ASIA AUSTRALASIA Penang International Travel Exchange to go virtual in October The Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE), a programme owned by Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, is going fully digital for this year’s show. PITE is Malaysia’s only homegrown business events tradeshow. The event programme will offer B2B sessions in three streams, according to the market segment time zones - 14 October for the Asia Pacific market, 15 October for the European, and 16 October for North and South America. ACE Conferences & Exhibitions is the organiser and all activity will take place in a simulated exhibition centre. Western Australia offers delegate funding if business events ‘go local’ Business Events Perth is offering AUD$30 per qualifying delegate, to encourage organisations to host local events. CEO Gareth Martin said: “It’s safe to meet again in Western Australia and we want to help the industry get back on its feet and support local jobs.” Total funding support depends on event duration and number of delegates attending. Eligible events include conferences, exhibitions and corporate meetings. The offer is available for events to be held in Western Australia before 30 June, 2021.
