News AUSTRALASIA EUROPE Australia business events boost Applications for a new domestic partnership programme to support Australia’s industry-led business are open. “With Australia’s borders to remain closed for some time, the recovery of the business events industry will be driven by domestic activity,” said Penny Lion, executive general manager, events at Tourism Australia. Projects should be able to influence decision-makers to hold events in Australia. Activity must be undertaken in the current financial year and applicants must be seeking $10,000 minimum in funding and match Tourism Australia’s contribution. #GetBritainMeeting Mash Media Group has released an industry support video as part of its #GetBritainMeeting campaign to showcase the true value of the UK events industry, amid a backdrop of lack of understanding as to the value and depth of the sector to the UK economy. Despite government support measures, such as Coronavirus Business Interruption Loans, wage furlough support and rates relief, many events businesses have fallen through the cracks.
