Australia business events boost
Applications for a new domestic partnership programme
to support Australia’s industry-led business are open.
“With Australia’s borders to remain closed for some
time, the recovery of the business events industry will be
driven by domestic activity,” said Penny Lion, executive
general manager, events at Tourism Australia.
Projects should be able to influence decision-makers to
hold events in Australia. Activity must be undertaken in the
current financial year and applicants must be seeking
$10,000 minimum in funding and match Tourism
Australia’s contribution.
#GetBritainMeeting
Mash Media Group has released an industry support video
as part of its #GetBritainMeeting campaign to showcase the
true value of the UK events industry, amid a backdrop of
lack of understanding as to the value and depth of the
sector to the UK economy.
Despite government support measures, such as Coronavirus
Business Interruption Loans, wage furlough support and rates
relief, many events businesses have fallen through the cracks.
The events industry is worth £70bn to the UK economy
annually and employs 700,000 people.
