Hi I’m Helen, one of the Senior Event
Managers at ExCeL. Even when I was
running training courses for dance
teachers, I realised events were my real
inspiration. Having run one of the first
events at ExCeL in 2000, I was offered a
permanent job at the venue in 2007.
Being an event manager is all about
working with our customers to create
successful events that make a difference.
Sustainability is one of my passions and
something that’s always interested me.
I’ve championed the audit process for
environmental standards such as ISO2121
and ISO14001 and learned so much
about how our recycling and energy
management deliver a positive impact.
Another initiative that’s close to my heart
is working with a local charity,
Community Food Enterprise. They
regularly collect surplus food and
furniture, donating it to a variety projects
across the London Borough of Newham.
