ICC SYDNEY INDICATORS UP AND POINT TO A SUCCESSFUL AND IMPACTFUL 2026

The International Convention Centre( ICC) Sydney exceeded all revenue and profit forecasts in 2025 and contributed AUD $ 746m in economic impact to the state( up from $ 718m) as it welcomed a record breaking 1.5m attendees( up from 1.3m) to 546 core events( up from 507).

The venue’ s strategy was to focus on sparking vibrancy through events while driving change through innovation, with data at the core and increased efficiencies.
As we see from the preceding pages covering Autsralia’ s main venues and destinations, although the focus in events business is on community, legacy and the knowledge economy, we do not overlook the economic statistics which, in addition to the above, have created 3,857 jobs in the local economy, as ICC Sydney drove a record-breaking calendar of Live Entertainment Events too. Sydneysiders flocked to 136 events( up from 99 in FY2023 / 24) at ICC Sydney Theatre and Darling Harbour Theatre.
ICC Sydney last year secured 17 international conferences and corporate events, many won in partnership with Business Events Sydney. The venue backed this up securing 88 national conferences, seven more than the previous year and there were 61 trade and consumer exhibitions.
ICC Sydney is anticipating the success to continue in 2026 with the international events calendar looking strong with an expected 31 events in FY26 / 27. The international events, the team reports, will have a focus on health and medical sciences, technology, education, finance and sustainability – sectors that reflect the State’ s priorities.
Two projects delivered in 2025 were Dancers’ Alley, which saw the transformation of an informal space into a vibrant, community-driven cultural hub, celebrating youth expression,
and LED Activation Zone, which transformed ICC Sydney’ s foyer into a dynamic digital showcase. This 55sqm, 4K installation offers event organisers a bold platform for product launches, interactive experiences, and audience engagement, backed by expert in-house content creation.
The venue also secured high-profile sponsorship with a leading global entertainment platform, rebranding ICC Sydney Theatre as TikTok Entertainment Centre. This project elevated guest experiences across five key market segments and position ICC Sydney at the forefront of the creator economy and digital entertainment landscape. It has also delivered significant revenue, brand recognition and creator influence to one billion global users.
ICC Sydney is also proud of putting its people first and reported 39 internal promotions last year, delivering over 10,400 training hours to members of staff.
A new event management graduate programme with UTS was launched and the past year welcomed the eighth cohort of international culinary services interns.
The venue also worked on its Disability Inclusion Action Plan, in consultation with Get Skilled Access and Autism Spectrum Australia and was the first Australian venue to be awarded with the Australian Workplace Equality Index( AWEI) Silver accreditation( 2024 and 2025).
Legacy activations In FY2024 / 25, 423 Legacy Programme activations were delivered at events( up from 325 in the year prior).
Through its partnership with Supply Nation, ICC Sydney created opportunities to grow Aboriginal-owned businesses across its supply chain through an enhanced First Nations procurement strategy.
The venue also purchased AUD $ 13.85m of food and beverages sourced from NSW providers.
ICC Sydney team members participated in the JMIC Net Zero Carbon Events( NZCE) Pledge and the national ABEA Sustainability Special Interest Group, among other environmental initiatives. The venue donated 1,527kg of repurposed goods from events such as furniture, homewares, computers, clothing and stationery to its charity partners. n
